Happiness Doesn’t Have to be Expensive

Paul Brown |

Dogs have a unique perspective on “wealth”.

They can have a basket full of toys, a comfortable bed, and plenty of treats, and still get super-excited when you walk in the door or take them on a simple stroll around the neighborhood.

There is an important financial lesson in that.

Many people spend years pursuing the next milestone:
• A bigger home
• A fatter paycheck
• A nicer car
• A larger investment account

While goals and ambition are healthy and motivating, we all inherently know that true financial success isn't measured solely by what you accumulate.

It's also measured by your ability to enjoy what you already have.

Some of life's most meaningful moments cost us very little:
• A family game night
• Conversations with good friends
• A summer evening sitting on your porch
• Snuggling with someone you love

A solid financial plan should help create more of those moments, not distract from them.

Financial takeaway: Build wealth with purpose, but don't forget to enjoy the simple things along the way.
